The only thing that can halt it is Dorleac’s safe return.

Duke Sergei V. Sinistre is a Greater Noble, Administrator of the Ninth Sector of the western Frontier. His servant has been imprisoned by humans and is now being transported through his domain to the Capital by Sheriff Louise Kirk and three of her aids by commercial stagecoach. He is said to possibly have great reason to attack and want to regain his property like most Nobles, however, this so far remains to be seen. Makes his appearance in Bedeviled Stagecoach.

The voice that was heard from the depths of the gyroddyne was clearly synthesized. If others had been there to hear that reply, it undoubtedly would've filled each and every one of them with wonder. The tone of the duke directed toward the mechanical man was brimming with affection. Like D's it was low and murky. By the time the gyrodyne took off without a sound, D was galloping away through the rain.
