The Hunter or Bounty Hunter is a common occupation on the Frontier. This is a title originally meant to refer to those who hunt and gather food, hides, or for sport tracking down animals. People across the Frontier still do this for an occupation more than a sport.
It also refers to hunters of dangerous creatures or vampires as well, where the term more refers to Bounty Hunters. Due to the chaos, there is a lack of law enforcement and they often need to supplement their defense by hiring outsiders to deal with threats. Vampire Hunters and Werewolf Hunters often cover their expenses or even make a living by taking bounties on targets by towns who have suffered at their hands. D and the Marcus Clan are examples of notable bounty hunters in the series.
