The paper money D gives the hotel manager in the village where Sybille Schmitz, sleeps. Apparently there's paper money in circulation in addition to all the various coins. While the exact amount the hunte gets back is unknown, it must be substantial, as the manage tells him, This was the first time in the series paper money is mentioned, and probablly the last.
